LAUREL, MD – Live racing returns to Laurel Park Thursday with the first of back-to-back nine-race programs to open the seventh week of the calendar year-ending fall meet, featuring six races for 2-year-olds and eight more scheduled for its world-class turf course.

First race post time is 12:40 p.m.

Sanchez Rides Two Preview Winners

LAUREL, MD – Trainer Frank Russo and jockey Jorge Vargas Jr. combined to win two of the five Claiming Crown Preview races held Sunday at Laurel Park, while jockey Mychel Sanchez also had two preview wins.

The five preview race winners earned an automatic berth to the 23rd Claiming Crown, to be held Saturday, Dec. 4 at Gulfstream Park. This will be the 10th consecutive year Gulfstream will play host to the event. All preview winners will receive $2,500 toward shipping costs.

Ness, who turns 47 Oct. 29, has five horses entered in four of the five Preview races on the eight-race card. First-race post time is 12:40 p.m.
