A SATURDAY MORNING EXPERIENCE FOR FAMILIES

Looking for something NEW to do this weekend? Bring the family to the kick-off of The Morning Workout Show at Laurel Park on Saturday, March 14.

From 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, watch the track come to life as the sun rises and Thoroughbreds begin their morning workouts. It’s a relaxed, behind-the-scenes experience designed for families, first-time visitors, and longtime fans alike.

Admission is free — no tickets required.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Morning Welcome

  • Complimentary sausage biscuit for each guest (while supplies last)

  • Trackside Grill Breakfast Bar open for additional breakfast options

Watch the Morning Works

Enjoy coffee, hot chocolate and conversation while horses train on the track — a quieter, close-up look at racing most fans never see.

Kids’ Zone (8:00 AM – 10:00 AM)

Located under the Apron tent:

  • Face painting

  • Photo stations

  • Games and activities designed for younger guests

Meet the Pros

Kids and families can meet jockeys and trainers, ask questions, take photos and get autographs.

Paddock & Trackside Experience (8:30 AM – 9:00 AM)

Get up close to a horse in the paddock and watch track maintenance in action, including the John Deere tractors that help prepare the racing surface each morning — a favorite moment for younger guests and anyone curious about how the track operates.

Behind-the-Scenes Mini Tour (9:30 AM)

Learn how Laurel Park operates on race days and training mornings with a guided mini tour to the paddock and winner’s circle!
