2017 SEASON: registered 30 wins on the Maryland circuit, good for 11^th overall … finished sixth in wins (14) and seven in purses earned ($473,409) at Laurel Park’s year-ending fall meet … ranked ninth in both wins (11) and purses earned ($375,753) at Laurel’s winter-spring meet … saddled O Dionysus for a victory in the Miracle Wood for 3-year-olds … sent out Whirlin Curlin for upset victories in the Maryland Juvenile Futurity and Christopher Elser Memorial … topped the $1 million mark in season earnings for the third straight year and ninth in the last 12.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: ranked 10^th in the local standings with 27 wins in 2016…finished second at Laurel’s fall meet with 16 wins and third in the Preakness Meet at Pimlico with eight victories, two behind co-winners Hammy Smith and Tim Keefe…saddled O Dionysus to win in  Christopher Elser Memorial at Parx…O  Dionysus was second in the Marylander and Frank Whiteley Jr. to cap his juvenile season…finished with 40 wins on the year, his most since 2011 (56)…tied for ninth in the 2015 Maryland standings with 29 victories…finished in a tie for third at Laurel  Park’s summer meet with six wins…ranked fourth at Laurel’s fall meet with $505,749 in purse earnings and tied for seventh with 14 wins…Captured the Maryland Million Lassie with Lexington Street…trained Captain Bodgit to victories in the 1997 Florida Derby (G1) and Wood Memorial Stakes (G1), a second place finish in the Kentucky Derby (G1) and a thrilling third place in the Preakness Stakes (G1)…conditioned Cherokee’s Boy who won 15 added money races during his career and ranks 13^th on the all-time list of Maryland-breds with $1,177,946 in career earnings…the son of Citidancer failed to pick up a check just once in 48 career starts, the 2003 Preakness…Steady Warrior, a son of Cherokee’s Boy, was three-of-five during his 2-year-old campaign in 2010 with two stakes wins, including the Maryland Million Nursery…claimed Run Charlie Run for $5,000 and developed him into a winner of 13 races and more than $100,000…saddled Ibex to a fifth place finish in the 1993 Pimlico Special…trained multiple stakes winners Silver Tango, Holiday Ball, Jest Punching and Grundlefoot…first win was with Superior Blend in 1988 at Pimlico…in 2008, won nine of 10 starts at Laurel from Nov. 14 (his 45^th birthday) to Dec. 20 and finished the year with 20 in the money finishes from his final 21 starters…that year he captured the Laurel Park summer meet title and won races at a 28.3% clip at Laurel and Pimlico…reached 1,000 milestone with Miss Speaker at Delaware Park on September 18, 2013.
