LAUREL, MD – Multiple Grade 3-winner Ben’s Cat breezed a half-mile Friday morning at Laurel Park in his final timed work before seeking his seventh consecutive victory in the $75,000 Mister Diz Stakes on Maryland Pride Day, Aug. 20.
 

Leading Jockey Carrasco Out of Action This Week

LAUREL, MD – Jockey Victor Carrasco, who leads Laurel Park’s summer meet in both wins and purses earned, will be out of action through the weekend with a foot injury, agent Tom Stift said.
 
Carrasco, 24, was hurt when his mount, 2-year-old colt O Dionysus making his first career start, dumped him as horses were heading out to the track from the paddock for Sunday’s fourth race.

LAUREL, MD - The Maryland Jockey Club announced today it will pay shipping expenses to Laurel for horsemen stabled at Parx throughout the month of August.
            
Parx is closed from August 10 through September 2.
