Pedulla To Receive Old Hilltop Award

To be Honored May 18 at Alibi Breakfast

lAUREL, MD – Tom Pedulla, who has reported on Thoroughbred racing for more than three decades for numerous publications, will receive the Old Hilltop Award at the Alibi Breakfast Thursday, May 18 at Pimlico Race Course.

Pedulla will be recognized for covering Thoroughbred racing with excellence and distinction for more than 30 years.

LAUREL, MD – Laurel, MD (April 26, 2023) – 1/ST RACING and The Maryland Jockey Club are pleased to announce that training will resume on Thursday, April 27 with live racing expected on Saturday, April 29 pending approval from the Maryland Racing Commission.

1/ST RACING AND THE MARYLAND JOCKEY CLUB REACH AGREEMENT WITH MARYLAND THROUGHBRED HORSEMEN’S ASSOCATION REGARDING LAUREL PARK DIRT RACING SURFACE INSPECTION

LAUREL, MD – 1/ST RACING and the Maryland Jockey Club today reached an agreement with the Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association to allow access by Mr. John Passero, a consultant retained by the Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association, to make an independent inspection of the dirt racing surface at Laurel Park. The inspection will begin promptly, and the parties agree to confer in good faith to review and assess any findings.
