LAUREL, MD - The Jim Stable's Ben's Cat, the popular, Maryland-bred fan favorite who has won 30 of 53 starts for $2.4 million, is back at Laurel in light training for his Hall of Fame conditioner King Leatherbury after taking the winter off at Stephanie Nixon's farm in Virginia.

LAUREL, MD - A group of promising 3-year-olds, led by Miracle Wood winner Marengo Road and Wide Country winner Great Soul, tops a busy weekend of racing at Laurel Park.
 
Marengo Road, a 3-year-old colt by Quality Road, leads a group of six in Saturday's $75,000 Private Terms, while Great Soul, a lightly-raced filly by Great Notion, meets five others in the co-featured $75,000 Caesar's Wish.

Timonium, Md.— Alex and JoAnn Lieblong’s multiple Grade 1 stakes performer The Big Beast was named Maryland-bred Horse of the Year in the annual poll conducted by the Maryland Horse Breeders Association. The son of Yes It’s True, bred by Ron and Carolyn Green’s Green Willow Farm, also took top honors as champion older male and champion sprinter.
