Muth Declared Out of Saturday’s Preakness (G1)

LAUREL, MD – Preakness (G1) morning line favorite Muth has been declared out of Saturday’s race after spiking a temperature after arriving at Pimlico late Tuesday night.

Hall of Fame trainer BB said the Arkansas Derby (G1) winner spiked a temperature of 103 and he had no choice but to scratch.

“We are sick about this. The horse had been doing really well,” Baffert said. “But we have to do what’s right by the horse.”

LAUREL, MD – In addition to the regular daily wagering menu, the Maryland Jockey Club is offering a pair of two-day Pick 5 bets comprised of selected races on Friday’s Black-Eyed Susan (G2) Day and Saturday’s 149th Preakness Stakes (G1) programs at historic Pimlico Race Course.

Each two-day Pick 5 wager features a low 12 percent takeout and 50-cent minimum, with a mandatory payout provision if no one selects all five winners.
