LAUREL, MD – Live racing returns to Laurel Park Saturday with a nine-race program featuring five stakes worth $450,000 in purses led by the $100,000 Private Terms for 3-year-olds and $100,000 Beyond the Wire for 3-year-old fillies.

First race post time is 12:25 p.m.

LAUREL, MD – “As reported, late in the day on March 8, the Maryland Jockey Club was notified that a horse stabled at Laurel Park tested positive for equine herpes virus (EHV1). As per our standard veterinary protocols, the affected horse was immediately removed from the barn and is currently being treated at Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center.  

Laurel Cancels Friday Program

Stronach 5 Canceled

LAUREL, MD – The Maryland Jockey Club has canceled Friday’s nine-race program at Laurel Park due to a number of horses entered now under quarantine after a symptomatic horse at the track tested positive for the equine herpesvirus type 1 (EHV-1).

Friday’s national wager the Stronach 5, which was to feature two races from Laurel and a carryover of $154,931, has been postponed to March 19.

The Stronach 5 Will Have a Carryover March 12 of $154,931

LAUREL, MD – There were no winning tickets in Friday’s Stronach 5, which means there will be a carryover Friday, March 12 of $154,931.69.

The Stronach 5, which features an industry-low 12-percent takeout, featured races from Laurel Park, Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita Park and Golden Gate Fields. There were no winning favorites. The lowest payoff in Friday’s Stronach 5 was $13.40. The highest was $43.20.
