LAUREL, MD – Highlighted by the 147th running of the Preakness Stakes (G1) for 3-year-olds, Middle Jewel of the Triple Crown, the Maryland Jockey Club will present 16 stakes, 10 graded, worth $3.8 million in purses over Preakness weekend, May 20-21, at historic Pimlico Race Course.

The Preakness Meet at Pimlico is scheduled to open Thursday, May 12 and run through Tuesday, May 31.

LAUREL, MD – Laurel Park is gearing up to host its biggest day of the winter season Saturday with a stakes-filled spectacular led by the $250,000 Barbara Fritchie (G3) and $250,000 General George (G3).

A total of six stakes worth $900,000 in purses are scheduled anchored by the 70th running of the Barbara Fritchie for fillies and mares 4 and older and the 46th renewal of the General George for 4-year-olds and up. Both races are contested at seven furlongs.

There were 12 winning tickets in last week’s Stronach 5, each worth $11,033.90. Friday’s Stronach 5 once again features five competitive races in just over 60 minutes.
