LAUREL, MD – Laurel Park’s Fall Festival of Racing, featuring the 27th running of the Xpressbet Frank De Francis Memorial Dash (G3) and six other stakes races, handled $5.073 million Saturday, an increase of 35.5 percent over last year’s program.
 
Total handle in 2017 on the corresponding day was $3.743 million. Handle in 2016 was $4.513 million and in 2015 $3.775 million.

LAUREL, MD – Edward Short’s Class and Cash, usually a pacesetter, closed from well back on the Fort Marcy Turf Cup to win the $100,000 Laurel Turf Dash presented by Fidelity First.
 
Trained by Jane Cibelli and ridden Feargal Lynch, Class and Cash got up along the rail inside the final 70 yards to win the six furlong event in 1:14.04. Dubini was second and Fielder checked in third.
 

Order and Law Breaks Maiden in $100,000 Laurel Futurity

LAUREL, MD – Bran Jam Stable and David Clark’s Order and Law, who made his debut in the Tyro last month, rallied from last on Laurel’s Fort Marcy Turf Course Saturday to break his maiden in the $100,000 Laurel Futurity sponsored by B & B Commercial Interiors.
 
Trained by Louis Linder Jr, and ridden by Feargal Lynch, Order and Law ($21.80) covered a good six furlong course in 1:14.94.
