LAUREL, MD – Gunpowder Farms and Millennium Farms’ 3-year-old filly Arrifana, racing around two turns for the first time, kept her perfect record intact with a popular half-length victory in Friday’s feature race at Laurel Park.

With regular rider Julian Pimentel aboard, Arrifana ($2.40) ran about 1 1/16 miles in 1:43.72 over a fast main track for her fourth win in as many starts for trainer Kelly Rubley.

LAUREL, MD – Caonabo Stable’s multiple stakes winner Clubman, beaten as the favorite in the $150,000 Maryland Million Classic Oct. 19, bounced back with a 1 ¼-length victory in Thursday’s feature as live racing returned to Laurel Park.

LAUREL, MD – Laurel Park will resume its live race schedule with a 10-race Halloween program Thursday, Oct. 31.

First race post time is 12:25 p.m.

Racing and training had been suspended at Laurel since Thursday, Oct. 24 due to a broken water pipe located on the track apron along the outer rail of the main track, which has now been repaired.

LAUREL, MD – Maxis Stable, Madaket Stable and Wonder Stables’ stakes winner Miss J McKay breezed over Laurel Park’s world-class turf course Saturday morning ahead of an anticipated start in the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1).

Under fall meet-leading jockey Trevor McCarthy, who will retain the mount in the Breeders’ Cup, Miss J McKay was clocked in 49.20 seconds for a half-mile on a course rated soft.

Laurel Park Cancels Saturday and Sunday Programs

Facility Will Remain Open for Simulcasting

LAUREL, MD – Laurel Park has cancelled its live racing programs for Saturday, Oct. 26 and Sunday, Oct. 27 as work continues to repair a broken water pipe along the track apron.

The decision was made to cancel the final two days of Laurel’s four-day race week to ensure the pipe issue has been properly resolved for the safety of its horses and horsemen.

LAUREL, MD – Ongoing work to fix a broken water pipe along the track apron has forced Laurel Park to cancel Friday’s live 10-race program.

Repairs to the pipe, located near the outer rail of the main track, took longer than expected and require an extra day to complete. Management is optimistic live racing will return with Saturday’s scheduled 10-race card.

Remains Open for Simulcasting

LAUREL, MD – Laurel Park has cancelled its 10-race program Thursday due to a broken water pipe along the apron.

Because the pipe is located near the outer rail of the main track, management has decided to call off today’s races.

Laurel remains open today for simulcasting and is optimistic it will resume its live program Friday afternoon. Friday’s first race post is 12:25 pm., with six of the 10 races are scheduled on Laurel’s world-class turf course.

Breeders' Cup Pre-Entries Feature Maryland Stakes Winners

36th Breeders’ Cup Championships Nov. 1 and 2 at Santa Anita

LAUREL, MD – Led by Preakness (G1) hero War of Will and record-setting filly Covfefe, several stakes winners in Maryland this year were among 188 horses pre-entered for the 36th Breeders’ Cup Nov. 1 and 2 at Santa Anita Downs.

Pre-entries for all 14 Breeders’ Cup races were due Monday and announced Wednesday.
