LAUREL, MD - Mrs. Frank Wright's homebred and graded-stakes winner Lady Sabelia needed the entire stretch to wear down Disco Chick to win the $75,000 Primonetta Stakes Saturday at Laurel Park.
 

McCarthy Wins Three, Toledo Takes First Turf Race

LAUREL, MD - Jockey Trevor McCarthy won the first three races Friday at Laurel Park, but it was Jevian Toledo who won the first turf race of the season. 
 
McCarthy rode the early double with Memento d'Oro ($6.60) in the first and Pom Pom Pistol ($4.80) in the second, and came back to win the third race aboard J La Tache ($3).
 

Graded Winner Lady Sabelia Returns To Laurel Saturday In $75,000 Primonetta

LAUREL, MD - Mrs. Frank P. Wright's Grade 2-winning homebred Lady Sabelia, a winner of eight of her last 12 races, meets seven others Saturday in the $75,000 Primonetta Stakes.
            
Along with Lady Sabelia, a winner of nearly $700,000 for trained by Robin Graham and jockey Horacio Karamanos, the Primonetta drew Love Came to Town, a 5 1/2-length winner Jan. 2 of the Nellie Morse, and Flattering Bea, who ships in from Charles Town.

LAUREL, MD - Sonny Inspired, a 5-year-old gelded son of Artie Schiller, appears to only be getting better with age after holding off a late rally by Any Court Inastorm at Laurel Park to win Saturday's $75,000 The Ben's Cat, a six-furlong event for Maryland breds.

Marengo Road, a 3-year-old colt by Quality Road, leads a group of six in Saturday's $75,000 Private Terms, while Great Soul, a lightly-raced filly by Great Notion, meets five others in the co-featured $75,000 Caesar's Wish.
