G2 Winner Turns in Sharp Five-Furlong Breeze Saturday at Laurel

LAUREL, MD – Gary Barber, Wachtel Stable and Terp Racing’s Grade 2 winner Still Having Fun blazed through his lone breeze Saturday in advance of his next scheduled start in the $250,000 General George (G3) Feb. 15 at Laurel Park.

Jockey Feargal Lynch was aboard as Still Having Fun went five furlongs in 1:00 over Laurel’s main track, the fastest of 12 horses at the distance. Lynch has been named to ride in the seven-furlong General George.

Laurel Cancels Remainder of Friday Program

Stronach 5 Cancelled

LAUREL, MD – Laurel Park cancelled races 5 through 8 Friday afternoon due to high winds with gusts reaching 40 mph.

Due to Laurel cancelling live racing, Friday’s Stronach 5 was also cancelled. The Maryland Jockey Club serves as host of the Stronach 5.

Laurel remains open for simulcast wagering.

Live racing returns Saturday with a first race post of 12:25 p.m.

LAUREL, MD –The Stronach 5, a fast-paced, national wager featuring Thoroughbred racing every Friday from as many as four Stronach Group tracks, will be the subject of a new weekly show on In the Money Media Network beginning Thursday, Feb. 6.
