Multiple G3 Winner El Areeb Draws Outside Post 9 in Allowance Feature
LAUREL, MD – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved for the 22nd consecutive racing day Sunday, creating a jackpot carryover of $154,232.62 when live racing returns to Laurel Park with a nine-race program Friday, March 30.
First race post time is 1:10 p.m.
A total of $62,659 was bet into the popular multi-race wager Sunday, adding to a carryover of $134,181.56 from Saturday’s program. Multiple tickets with all six winners were each worth $2,790.02.
The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 60 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 40 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
Friday’s Rainbow 6 spans Races 4-9 and features a third-level $50,000 optional claiming allowance for 3-year-olds and up at seven furlongs that drew a field of nine including multiple Grade 3 winner El Areeb and multiple stakes winner Sonny Inspired and 2015 Jennings Handicap winner Noteworthy Peach.
Notes: Jockey Carol Cedeno and trainer Scott Lake teamed up for a pair of winners Sunday, with Doddsprivatelabel ($9.60) in the first race and Delta Outlaw ($6.40) in the sixth.
