Julio Correa, a 25-year-old native of Caguas, Puerto Rico, notched seven wins in the last four racing days to enter the final weekend of Laurel Park’s summer stand as its leading rider, having passed Trevor McCarthy, who has won four straight meets since returning to Maryland full-time last fall.

The Stronach 5 kicked off with Laurel Park’s eighth race and the 2-5 shot Quit Your Moanin ($2.80) winning the opening leg and ended with Grey Manners ($8.80) winning the ninth race and closing leg at Gulfstream Park. Both races scheduled on Gulfstream’s turf course were moved to the main track due to afternoon showers in South Florida.
