LAUREL, MD – Friday’s Stronach 5, featuring an industry-low 12 percent takeout, free past performances and a $100,000 guaranteed pool, will be highlighted by the $250,000 Black-Eyed Susan (G2) and $300,000 Pimlico Special (G3) as well as turf races from Santa Anita Park, Gulfstream Park and Golden Gate Fields.

LAUREL, MD – Friday’s Stronach 5 became the Stronach 4 when heavy rains forced the cancellation of four races at Pimlico Race Course, including the ninth race and second leg of the national pick five.

After Smoovie won the sixth race at Santa Anita Park and the final leg of the Stronach 5, 41 bettors would each win $2,685.60.

With the Pimlico ninth race being an ‘all,’ the winning combination was 7/ALL/6/3,7,12,13,14/1.

LAUREL, MD – A severe thunderstorm bringing heavy rain and lightning through the area forced Laurel Park to cancel the remaining five races on Thursday’s 10-race card.

The storm moved in as horses were being saddled for the sixth race. After waiting several minutes in the paddock for the weather to pass, the decision was made to cancel.
