Nominations Closing Jan. 30 for General’s Stake, Fritchie & Four Others

Laurel Program Will Include Six Stakes, $900,000 in Purses        
 
LAUREL, MD - Free nominations to the $250,000 General’s Stake (G3) and $250,000 Runhappy Barbara Fritchie (G3), to be run Saturday, Feb. 13 at Laurel Park along with four $100,000 stakes, will close Saturday, Jan. 30.
 
Past winners of the General’s Stakes (formerly the General George), for 4-year-olds and up at seven furlongs, have included Firenze Fire (2020), Imperial Hint (2017) and Page McKenney (2016). The Fritchie, for fillies and mares going seven furlongs, has been won by Majestic Reason (2020), Late Night Pow Wow (2019), Ms Locust Point (2018) and Dancing House (2016).
 
Laurel’s Feb. 13 program will also include:
  • $100,000 Miracle Wood, 3-year-olds, 1 mile
  • $100,000 Wide Country, 3-year-old fillies, 7 furlongs
  • $100,000 John B, Campbell, 4-year-olds and up, about 1 1/16 mile
  • $100,000 Nellie Morse, fillies and mares, 4 and up, about 1 1/16 mile
