$100,000 Guaranteed Pool

LAUREL, MD – Four tracks, a $100,000 guaranteed pool, and two turf races, including the $100,000 Orchid Handicap (G3) at 1 3/8th mile, highlight Friday’s Stronach 5.

The national wager, with an industry-low 12-percent takeout, will feature races from Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita Park, Laurel Park and Golden Gate Fields. The Stronach 5 begins with Laurel’s ninth race. The sequence then goes to Golden Gate for the fifth race, Santa Anita for its fifth race, and ends with two turf races at Gulfstream, including the Orchid.

Last week’s Stronach 5 rewarded 23 bettors each with $7,182.50.

Friday’s Stronach 5 sequence

●   Leg One – Laurel Park 9th Race – (10 entries, six furlongs) 5:16 ET, 2:16 PT

●   Leg Two – Golden Gate Fields 5th Race – (9 entries, one mile) 5:45 ET, 2:45 PT

●   Leg Three –Santa Anita Park 5th Race – (10 entries, six furlongs) 6 ET, 3 PT

●   Leg Four –Gulfstream Park 10th Race – (9 entries, 1 3/8 mile turf) 6:08 ET, 3:08 PT

●   Leg Five – Gulfstream Park 11th Race – (12 entries, 1 1/16 mile turf) 6:38 ET, 3:38 PT

The minimum wager on the multi-race, multi-track Stronach 5 is $1. If there are no tickets with five winners, the entire pool will be carried over to the next Friday.

For the Stronach 5, if a change in racing surface is made after the wagering closes, each selection on any ticket will be considered a winning selection. If a betting interest is scratched, that selection will be substituted with the favorite in the win pool when wagering closes.
