Watch and Wager on Simulcast of $12 Million Pegasus World Cup
LAUREL, MD – There will be carryovers in the 20-cent Rainbow 6, 50-cent Late Pick 5 and $1 Super Hi-5 greeting bettors for Saturday’s 10-race program at Laurel Park.
The Late Pick 5, with an industry-low 12 percent takeout, offers a two-day carryover of $12,659.15. Tickets with four of five winners Friday returned $73.20.
Saturday’s Late Pick 5 spans Races 6-10 and includes the featured ninth, a $42,000 entry-level allowance for 4-year-olds and up at about 1 1/16 miles on the main track.
The Rainbow 6 went unsolved on Friday, growing the jackpot carryover to $7,766.19. Tickets with five of six winners returned $731.44.
Saturday’s Rainbow 6 begins in Race 5. The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 60 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 40 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
A Super Hi-5 carryover of $1,358.43 will be available in Saturday’s opener, a one-mile claiming event for 4-year-olds and up.
First race post time Saturday is 12:30 p.m. Laurel will open its doors at 10:30 a.m. to allow fans to watch and wager on the simulcast of the $12 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) program from Gulfstream Park, which begins at 11:30 a.m. Post time for the Pegasus is scheduled for 5:45 p.m.
