Rainbow 6 Solved for $41,809 Jackpot Payout Sunday
Live Racing Returns Friday, March 29 with Nine-Race Card
LAUREL, MD – One lucky bettor solved the 20-cent Rainbow 6 for a jackpot payout of $41,809.64 Sunday at Laurel Park.
Two horses were live to take down the jackpot heading into Sunday’s ninth-race finale, won by 6-5 favorite Snippety ($4.40) to complete the 2-10-3-7-3-7 combination.
Other winners in the sequence were Can He Shine ($6.40) in Race 4, Turbin ($8.60) in Race 5, Correjon ($7.80) in Race 6, Deal Driven ($42) in Race 7 and Majid ($57) in Race 8.
A total of $11,810 was bet into the popular multi-race wager, which began with a carryover of $32,361.75 from Saturday’s program. The payout was the largest since being hit for a $31,286.30 score Dec. 21, 2018.
The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 60 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 40 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
The Rainbow 6 begins anew when live racing returns to Laurel Park with a nine-race program Friday, March 29. Spanning Races 4-9, the sequence includes a $40,000 maiden special weight for fillies 3 and up going seven furlongs in Race 6 which drew a field of nine including Song of Mine, an $800,000 daughter of Hall of Famer Ghostzapper winless in four previous races, and Peace Corps, a $270,000 yearling making her third career start for trainer Graham Motion.
There will be a $1,094.81 carryover in the $1 Super Hi-5 for Friday’s opener. First race post time is 1:10 p.m.
