LAUREL, MD – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 wager was solved by one lucky bettor for a jackpot payoff of $9,364.70 to wrap up Saturday’s nine-race program at Laurel Park.
Five of six horses were live to take down the jackpot entering the finale, a six-furlong maiden claiming event won by 1-2 favorite Enduring Warrior ($3) to complete the winning sequence of 7-7-2-4-2-4.
The Rainbow 6 begins anew Sunday spanning races 4-9. Post time moves to 1:10 p.m. for the opener, which will feature a $1 Super Hi-5 carryover of $3,229.29.
Enduring Warrior was the second win of the day for jockey Horacio Karamanos, who also finished first with Drive At Nite ($9.60) in the seventh race. Trainer Gary Capuano sent out a pair of winners with Rodon ($19.60) in the first and Flyingtobechilders ($10.80) in the fourth.
Jockeys Carlos Quinones and Katie Davis escaped injury following a spill in the eighth race. Davis was taken to the hospital for precautionary X-rays, and both are expected to ride Sunday.
