Storm Closes Laurel, Several OTB’s for Simulcasting

LAUREL, MD – Due to winter storm conditions, there will be no simulcast wagering today at Laurel Park.
 
The Maryland Jockey Club announced that its OTB’s in Timonium, Boonsboro and Perryville will also be closed.
 
The OTB at the Horseshoe Casino in downtown Baltimore will remain open for simulcast wagering. Live racing and simulcasting has also been cancelled this evening at Rosecroft.

LAUREL, MD – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 wager was solved by one lucky bettor for a jackpot payoff of $9,364.70 to wrap up Saturday’s nine-race program at Laurel Park.

Five of six horses were live to take down the jackpot entering the finale, a six-furlong maiden claiming event won by 1-2 favorite Enduring Warrior ($3) to complete the winning sequence of 7-7-2-4-2-4.

LAUREL, MD – Grade 3-winning multi-millionaire gelding Ben’s Cat began working toward his 11-year-old debut with a three-furlong breeze Saturday at Laurel Park.
 
Bred, owned and trained by Hall of Fame horseman King Leatherbury, Ben’s Cat was clocked in 37.40 seconds over a fast main track in the first timed work since returning late last month from his annual winter vacation.
