LAUREL, MD – In addition to a live program of 12 races, fans at Laurel Park will be able to watch and wager on Kentucky Derby (G1) and Preakness (G1) winner Justify’s quest for history in the Belmont Stakes (G1) Saturday, June 9.
Laurel will open its doors a half-hour early at 11 a.m. for Belmont Day, which has a first-race post time of 11:35 a.m. Post time for the Belmont Stakes, carded 11th of 13 races at Belmont Park, is scheduled for 6:46 p.m.
First race post time at Laurel will be 12:35 p.m. on Belmont Day.
Justify’s victory in the Preakness May 19 at legendary Pimlico Race Course put him on course to become just the 13th Triple Crown winner and the second in four years following American Pharoah in 2015. Like American Pharoah, Justify is trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert.
Fans will be given a Justify T-shirt with the purchase of Saturday’s program, while supplies last. A buffet will be served from 1-5 p.m. at a cost of $45, with reservations being taken through Friday, June 8 at 301-725-0770.
On Friday, June 8, Laurel will offer 10 live races starting at 1:10 p.m. as well as advance wagering on the entire Belmont Day program including the New York Stakes (G2)-Met Mile (G1) and Belmont Gold Cup (G2)-Belmont Stakes two-day double guaranteed wagers.
