Live Racing, Food & Drink Specials Throughout the Day
LAUREL, MD – In addition to live racing on the final weekend of its winter-spring meet, Laurel Park on Saturday, May 6 will play host to food and drink specials and give fans the opportunity to watch and wager on the Kentucky Derby (G1) from Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky.
Laurel’s gates open at 10 a.m. with a special first-race post time of 12:15 p.m. Simulcast begins at 6:46 p.m. for the Derby, featuring leading multiple Grade 2 winner and leading contender Irish War Cry, based at the Fair Hill Training Center in Elkton, Md. with trainer Graham Motion.
Derby Day seating in the Silks Room is $15, or $35 for the Triple Crown series, featuring the Preakness Stakes (G1) May 20 at historic Pimlico Race Course and the Belmont Stakes (G1) June 10 at Belmont Park.
Terrace and TIPS dining rooms will have a Derby Day buffet for $38 per person from 1-5 p.m. The Flute Club is offering at bottomless pour featuring Martini & Rossi for $18, while Laurel’s Jailbreak Brewing Company is serving a Pimlico Pilsner for $5.50 per draft.
Party on the Apron includes a BBQ box with two entrees, two sides and a muffin for $15. Official drinks of the Triple Crown – the Mint Julep, Black-Eyed Susan and Belmont Jewel – will be available for $10 or $12 in a souvenir glass.
