WHAT’S HAPPENING AT LAUREL PARK ON WINTER CARNIVAL

Saturday, Feb.13:
Winter Carnival: Laurel Park’s Winter Carnival features ice sculptures in the grandstand and clubhouse entrances and Terrace Dining Room, an ice wall between 12:30-4:30 p.m. with more than $2,500 in prizes, and an ice carving demonstration from 1-3:30 p.m.
Racing: The $300,000 Barbara Fritchie (G2) brings together some of the country’s best filly and mare sprinters. The program will also include the $75,000 John B. Campbell and $75,000 Maryland Racing Media Stakes. First race post is 12:25 p.m.
Dining: Terrace Dining Room buffet is $32 per person from 12-4 p.m. Bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Marys for an additional $12. Tips and Tycoons will be open for a la carte dining.
Fundraiser for Fray: Jockey Fray Martinez, 21, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in December. Laurel will hold a silent auction with one-of-a-kind collectables and memorabilia in the clubhouse (next to the Terrace Garden) from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Bidding closes at 3:30 p.m. There will also be a bone marrow registry drive from 12:30-4:30 p.m. in the clubhouse. Everyone getting their cheeked swabbed will receive a $2 betting voucher.
Sunday, Feb. 14:
Racing: First race post is 12:25 p.m.
Dining: Sunday brunch from 12-4 p.m. is $22 per person. For reservations call 301.725.0770.
Monday, Feb. 15:
Racing:  The $250,000 General George (G3) plays host to some of the country’s best older sprinters. The program will also include the $75,000 Miracle Wood and $75,000 Wide Country.
