Suarez Rides Three Winners

LAUREL, MD – Jockey Angel Suarez had the hat trick Thursday at Laurel Park, winning three races on the afternoon program.
 
Suarez kicked things off by winning the first race aboard Maynooth ($2.80). He then won the sixth race with Real Factor ($6.20) and the seventh race with the longshot She’s Quiet ($18.60).

LAUREL, MD – The Maryland Jockey Club will host its annual Cure the Winter Blues handicapping tournament over six consecutive Saturdays beginning with the Feb. 16 Winter Carnival program at Laurel Park.

Weekly and grand prizes will be available to the first, second and third-place finishers in the Cure the Winter Blues tournament, which runs through Saturday, March 16.

LAUREL, MD – Bettors will take a trip cross-country Friday when the Stronach 5 visits Laurel Park, Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita Park and Golden Gate Fields while offering a $50,000 guaranteed pool.

The sequence kicks off at Laurel Park at 4:35 p.m. with 10 claimers going a mile. After two races at Gulfstream and another at Santa Anita, the national pick 5 with the industry-low 12-percent takeout will finish at Golden Gate with a starter allowance and a field of eight.

Laurel will remain open Thursday for simulcast wagering.

LAUREL, MD – Friday’s Stronach 5, the national pick 5 with an industry-low 12-percent takeout, rewarded 97 bettors across the country $1,314.90 each.
The shortest price winner came at Gulfstream Park in Uno Mas Modelo ($3.40) and the longest price occurred in the final leg at Golden Gate Fields in Classy Chasie ($22.60).
