LAUREL, MD - Johnny Hop, a 3-year-old son of Bodemeister who sold for $350,000 at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company March Sale of 2-year-olds, gamely held off Honor the Fleet down the stretch to break his maiden at first asking Saturday at Laurel Park.

LAUREL, MD – Topped by the $300,000 Barbara Fritchie (G2) and $250,000 General George (G3), the first graded stakes of the year in Maryland, a total of 187 horses were nominated to six stakes worth $850,000 in purses on the Winter Carnival program Saturday, Feb. 18 at Laurel Park.

LAUREL, MD - Laurel Park will offer $850,000 in stakes purses Saturday, Feb. 18 as part of its annual Winter Carnival, an entertaining and unique afternoon of ice carvings, ice bars, drink specials, and other winter-themed activities.

The Late Pick 5, with an industry-low 12 percent takeout, offers a two-day carryover of $12,659.15. Tickets with four of five winners Friday returned $73.20.
