LAUREL, MD. 02-06-15---Nominations for the six stakes races which highlight the Presidents’ Day holiday weekend at Laurel Park were released today by the Maryland Jockey Club’s racing office.
LAUREL, MD. 01-31-15---When nominations close on Thursday for the $250,000 General George (G3) Handicap, don’t be surprised to see the name Smash and Grab after he cruised to victory in today’s seventh race at Laurel Park.
LAUREL, MD. 01-30-15---Cutty Shark punched his ticket to next month’s $250,000 General George Handicap (G3) at Laurel Park with a victory in today’s feature, a $47,000 optional allowance test.
LAUREL, MD. 01-29-15---James Covello, Thomas Coleman, & Doheny Racing Stable’s Majestic Affair served up a dominating performance to win today’s $100,000 Frank Whiteley Jr. Stakes for 3-year-olds, the co-feature on today’s 10-race program.
LAUREL, MD. 01-29-15---KMN Racing LLC’s Lindisfarne broke from the gate like a shot, backed off two challengers who raced to her inside and then powered by them down the lane to win the $100,000 Marshua Stakes for 3-year-old fillies, the first of two stakes races this afternoon at Laurel Park.
LAUREL, MD. 01-28-15---Two $100,000 stakes which could have been lost from this year’s schedule when racing was cancelled last Saturday will be brought back on Thursday’s program at Laurel Park.
The ten race card will be highlighted by the Marshua and Frank Whiteley, Jr. Stakes, which will go as races eight and nine on the program. Both are for 3-year olds.
