LAUREL, MD. 02-16-13---The Maryland Jockey Club honored jockey Abel Castellano Saturday afternoon for finishing atop the standings at Laurel Park and Pimlico Race Course last year. Castellano finished 2012 with 132 victories at Pimlico Race Course and Laurel Park,11 more than 2011 champion Sheldon Russell.He teamed up with top conditioner Jamie Ness for 69 victories.

Saturday's Miracle Wood Stakes Will Feature Eight 3-Year-Olds

LAUREL, MD. 02-07-13---Saturday’s $125,000 Miracle Wood Stakes at Laurel Park has attracted eight 3-year-olds, including three stakes winners.

Vegas No Show has been tabbed the 7-5 morning line favorite in the one mile test.  The son of Hard Spun has tested stakes company in his last five outings, with a win in the Dover Stakes at Delaware Park and a runner-up finish in the Nashua Stakes (G2) at Aqueduct. The Kelly Breen trainee posted a bullet workout at Belmont Park at the end of January and will carry Jeremy Rose for the first time.
